Mrs Buga is a retired former Dean of Students of Kyambogo University. Prior to joining Kyambogo University for 5 years in 2010, she worked in Makerere University for 25 years, and rose through the ranks from Warden to Senior Warden and then Deputy Dean of Students. She has extensive experience in university administration. She holds a Bachelor of Science plus Education degree and a Master of Education degree from Makerere University. She is a founder member Nile Micro Finance (U) Limited.
Vice chair BOD:
He holds a Master’s Degree in Development Studies from Bugema University and a Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Engineering from Makerere University. He has 17 years of work experience. Currently he is the Regional Coordinator for GAPP Programme (Governance, Accountability, and Participation & Performance Programme) in West Nile region. GAPP is funded by USAID (United States Agency for International Development) and DFID (The United Kingdom Department For International Development) and implemented by RTI (Research Triangle Institute, based in North Carolina, USA). Previously Dickens also worked as the District Coordinator for Maracha District leading NAADS (National Agricultural Advisory Services programme) of Government of Uganda. Dickens was the third Executive Director of CEFORD (Community Empowerment For Rural Development) a national NGO based in West Nile, Uganda. He worked in CEFORD for 7 years. Earlier on Dickens was instrumental for 2.5 years in implementing CAP (Community Action Program) that contributed to the rehabilitation of post war West Nile region. He brings experience in socio-economic development, advocacy for change and Government service delivery.
Mr Asea is a former banker turned business man. He is the chief executive officer of PABASA Enterprises, and regional agent for Coca cola in Arua, Uganda and the eastern part of the Democratic Republic of Congo. He worked for over 20 years as a banker in Centenary Rural Development Bank, where he rose through the ranks to become branch manager before he took early retirement. He holds a Diploma in Business Studies from Uganda College of Commerce, Pakwach, and Bachelor of Commerce degree from Makerere University.
Prof. Geoffrey A.B Buga
Professor Buga is a professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Walter Sisulu University and Nelson Mandela Academic Hospital, Mthatha, Eastern Cape, South Africa where he has worked for the last 27 years. He is a very experienced medical educator, and has served on a number of occasions as External Examiner for undergraduate and postgraduate students in obstetrics and gynaecology at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, College of Health Sciences, Makerere University. He holds a bachelor’s degree in medicine and a master’s degree in obstetrics and gynaecology from Makerere University, and a PhD from Trinity College, University of Dublin. He is a founder member of Nile Micro Finance (U) Limited.
Managing Director and Secretary to the Board:
Mr Matua is the brainchild behind NMF, and serves as the chief executive officer and Managing Director from the inception of NMF in 2008. Prior to that he worked for six years in Centenary Rural Development Bank as a loans officer and head of loans department, after which he joined Development Finance Company of Uganda (DFCU) Bank where he worked for five years as Operations Manager, and then as a Relationship Manager. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences from Makerere University, majoring in Economics and Rural Economy, and Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) from Bugema University. In addition, he has a certificate in banking from Uganda Martyrs University, Nkozi, a certificate in Micro Scale banking from Uganda Institute of Banking and Financial services (UIBFS), a certificate in Relationship Management from DFCU bank, a certificate in Community Development from Baptist Global Response (BGR) and a certificate in Corporate Governance from Uganda Institute of Banking and Financial Services (UIBFS) among others. He is a founder member of Nile Micro Finance (U) Limited.
Financial Administrator/HR Manager
Currently in CPA Level II, BBA (Accounting) from UCU, Diploma in Business Studies from UCC Pakwach, Certificate in Project Planning and Management from Uganda Episcopal Conference; 21 years in total of working experience; 3 months as Administrative Manager (Finance, Human Resources and General Administration) with Handicap International(Humanity & Inclusion); 6.5 years as Financial Administrator with Arua Diocese Media Centre/ Radio Pacis; 8 years as Accountant, Branch Manager and Supervisor with EJAB Family Investments Ltd; 3 years as Forex Officer and Banking Officer with Centenary Rural Development Bank Ltd.
Mrs. Draleru Clare holds a Master of Arts degree in Public Administration plus Bachelor of Arts in Secretarial Studies all from Makerere University. In addition she holds certificate in Branch Management for Micro Finance Institutions awarded by Uganda Institute of Banking and Financial Services (UIBFS) and certificate in Financial Literacy Training from Association of Micro Finance Institutions of Uganda (AMFIU). Prior to joining Nile Micro Finance Clare worked as a volunteer data entrant in the office of the Dean of students Makerere University. She is the second substantive employee of NMF and served the company as Operations Manager (from Inception) before being assigned the new task of heading the Agency Banking (2018) department that strengthens and makes Financial Inclusion a reality in NMF. Given Clare’s unequivocal knowledge and skills in Home Economics, she also provides oversight role in the company’s budding hospitality trading business.
Mr. Drasiku is the head of Credit Department. He worked as loans officer for three years before been promoted to the position of Head of Credit Administration. Worked with Arua Diocesan Priests’ Union (ADPU) in Arua Diocese as Accounts Assistant for two years, worked with (CEFORD) Community Empowerment for Rural Development as Community Facilitator and also as Loans Officer with Anyafio Cooperative Savings and Credit Society Limited. He is a finalist pursuing Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration (BBA Accounting) from Makerere University Business School. He holds a Diploma in Cooperative and Business Administration (DCBA) from Uganda Cooperative College Kigumba, he also holds a Diploma in SACCO and MICRO FINANACE Management (DMF) from Uganda Cooperative College Kigumba.He has Certificate in Loan Monitoring and Delinquency Management, Certificate in Accounting for Micro Finance Institutions, Certificate in Credit Analysis and Risk Assessment all obtained from Uganda Institute of Banking and Financial Services (UIBFS) Kampala.
He holds a diploma in Cooperatives and Business Administration from Uganda Cooperative College-Kigumba. In addition Richard obtained diploma in Savings and Credit Cooperatives, and diploma in Microfinance Management from Uganda Cooperatives College-Kigumba. .He worked as Loans Officer in Tara Savings and Credit Cooperative, Bursar in Golden Treasure Nursery and Primary School Arua, and Loans Officer Nile Micro Finance (U) Ltd. He has long experience in credit in Nile Micro Finance (about four years) and is a senoir credit Officer.
Holds a bachelor’s degree in Microfinance from Kyambogo University. He joined Nile Micro Finance as a loans officer trainee and is fully confirmed as a senior Credit Officer in the service of the company. Prior to that he trained as intern with Micro Finance Support Centre (MSC). Bernard also had one year experience with Bayport Financial Services as a Sales Agent. He now has four years’ experience in Credit.
Arinyihayo Stonewilly holds Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounts from Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST). He joined NMF as a trainee loans officer and is now a substantive loans officer building and looking after good stock of loan portfolio. A nationalistic young man with broader out look of business and life.
Fred holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Management Science from Kyambogo University.
He worked as a display Officer with Electrol Commission for one year. He also worked with Aliance One Uganda as the Clerk and Stacker for two years. Fred worked as a Credit Officer with Noble Unit (U) Ltd for three years. Given his vast experience in the field of Credit, Fred now serves as a Credit Officer specializing in Business Loan protfolio with Nile Micro Finance (U) Ltd.
He holds a diploma in Microfinance from Kyambogo University. Morris has three years’ work experience as a credit officer at Kijomoro Savings and Credit Cooperatives (SACCOs). He joined Nile Micro Finance as a trainee loans officer early this year and is now confirmed in service of the company.
He holds a diploma in Cooperatives and Business Administration from Uganda Cooperative College-Kigumba. Yoramu worked as credit officer in West Nile Teachers’ SACCO for three years. He also worked in Pride Micro Finance for three years as loans officer specializing in group loans portfolio. Given Yoramu’s long experience in loans, to date he is servicing as a senior loans officer in Nile Micro Finance bringing in a wealth of knowledge and skills.
He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Uganda Christian University. Philliam worked with World Vision Uganda as a field officer. He also worked with DLO properties and quick loans as a credit officer for one year. Philliam also worked as a senior recovery and field officer at Quick Debt Solutions Auctioneers and Court Bailiffs Arua for three years. Given his experience in the field of recovery, Philliam is now servicing as a senior recovery officer in Nile Micro Finance (U) LTD bringing in a wealth of strategies in the department of recovery.
Group Credit Officer
Billy holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement and Supply Chain Management from Makerere University. Billy worked as a linkage banking officer with Wenips/Barclays for two years. He also worked in Horizon Glory for two years as a credit loan officer specializing in group loans porfolio. He is now serving as a group loan credit officer with Nile Micro Finance (U) Ltd bringing in a wealth of knowlegde and skills
Odama Charles munduni
Holds certificate in Electrical Engineering from Moyo Technical Institute. He also has a Certificate in Solar Installations from CREEK Uganda. He worked as an electrician with Sino Hydro Power in Karuma for two years, Zhongoa Water Project two years, Vema Electrical Company for four years, and Metro Solar Company for three years. Charles has fifteen years’ experience as an electrician. Over these years Charles has amassed practical experience in electrical installations giving him and advantage in trouble shooting a myriad of electrical problems. He is the pioneer head of Solar loan Portfolio, a new dimension in our stock of loan products.
Chandia samuel baker
Group Credit Officer
Baker holds a Bachelors of Business Administration Accounting Option from Makerere University. He worked as a teacher at Rising Stars Nursery and Primary School for two years. He also worked as a Group Credit Officer with Horizon Glory for one year. He is now managing a group loan porfolio at Nile Micro Finance (U) Ltd.

Collins holds a Diploma in Human Resource Management from Ombaci Management Vocational Institute.
He worked as a group loan Officer with Finca (U) for nine years. Given Collins long experience in group loans, he is serving as the head of group loans in Nile Micro Finance (U) Ltd, bringing in a wealth of knowledge and skills.
Agri-Business Credit Officer
He holds a Diploma in Crop Production & Management from Bukalasa Agricultural College
Robert worked as a field assistant with ABI-Zonal Agricultural Research Developement Initiative (ZARDI) for one year. He also worked with ZOA as a trainer of trainees (TOT) for one year. Robert worked as a field officer with Agri-Exim Ltd for eight months. Due to his vast experience in the field of Agriculture, Robert is the head of Agri-Business loan portfolio in Nile Micro Finance (U) Ltd.
Agent Banking Officer
Monica holds a Bachelors degree in Business Administration from Uganda Christian University. She worked with Centenary Bank Arua branch as the head of Cente Mobile for 7 months. She worked with World Vision for 1 year 6 months as th food assistant based in Rhino Camp. She also worked with National Identification Registraation Authority as the enrollment officer for 4 months and as the Parish supervisor also for 4 months. She is now the substantive Agent Banking Officer handling most of the agent banking transactions.
She is the ICT oficer. Prior to that, she worked as an IT assistant with Mvule Trust under Straight Talk Foundation for 2 years. She also volunteered as an ICT trainer with War Child Holland for three month. She holds a bachelor of Science in Software Enginnering from Makerere University.
Assistant Finance Administrator
Angwandia Robert is the Assistant Finance Administrator. Prior to that he worked as a teacher for 4 years currently a student of institute of certified public accountant of Uganda level iii of CPA (U). He holds Bachelor of Science (Statistics and Economics) degree from Makerere university Kampala. He has attained various certificates including certificate in computerized accounting, certificate of financial management, certificate in credit analysis and risk assessment from Uganda institute of banking and financial services.
